Men plant a tree outside the Harvey W. Scott Memorial Library and Marsh Hall in 1967. The tree can still be seen outside the building today. The library began construction on the Pacific University campus on September 13, 1966. The building is not known as Scott Hall and houses student centers, faculty and staff offices, and the Cawein Art Gallery.
