This photo depicts the placing of the cornerstone of Washburn Hall at Pacific University, during its construction in 1963. The building was named after Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Washburn of Eugene, Oregon and now houses the cafeteria, student union center, Pacific Information Center, mail room, lounge, and offices that are of interest to student life.
