Portrait of A. C. Gilbert in his Pacific University wrestling uniform. A. C. Gilbert attended Tualatin University and Pacific University, but left Pacific in 1902 and transferred to Yale University. He graduated from Yale, and won a gold medal in pole vaulting at the 1908 Olympics. He later founded the A. C. Gilbert Company, with the most famous product being the Erector Set.
