Description
-
Black and white image of a large wedding party, the bride, groom, six attendants and a small child as flower girl. The groom and groomsmen all wear dark suits with ties and boutonnieres; the bride wears a long dress with a ruffled bodice and long sleeves, and a long veil falls from her headpiece. She carries a bouquet of mixed flowers. The three bridesmaids wear similar but not identical dresses with puffed sleeves, and various waist designs. Two wear corsages while a third holds another small bouquet of flowers. All the women have shorter, curlier hair pulled back away from their faces. The baby in the front, blurry as if she moved when the photo was snapped, wears a short dress and holds a basket of flowers. This image is part of the Herbert E. McMullen bequest. McMullen was a local photographer; he owned Hillsboro Studio and also collected photographs taken in the area by other photographers.
