Description
-
A group of students in front of Meacham School (District 51) in 1939. The school was located north of Mountaindale in Washington County, Oregon, at the intersection of Meacham and Dairy Creek roads. Many students at this school were from families employed by the Snooseville logging camp and Sherman's Mill cabins a few miles north of the school. The two logging camps were associated with Buckley & Lowe Mill (1930-1942) and Sherman's Mill (1925-1935). Sherman's Mill became Dixon's Mill in 1936.
