The roof is mossy and many shingles are loose, and a good portion of the house is hidden behind a pile of debris.

[Back] [type-written] Man with hat in hand is W. R. Scheurer, Butteeville [sic], Oregon. This house was built by his father in I852 [sic], and W. R. was born there January 26, I855 [sic]. House is being razed in January, I928 [sic]. F. L. Matthieu was born in this house.
