Description

A sign declaring 'wholesale and retail: Boston Store, Nathan Weil, Prop., Dry Goods, Clothing, Shoes' and the numbers 408 and 406 sits between the floors. The lower front has large glass windows beneath a furled awning, surrounding a double door entrance, recessed into the building. A large banner proclaiming 'BANKRUPT SALE of Swofferd Bros Stock of Kansas City' is stretched across the front. Women in long, full, dark skirts with puffed sleeve jackets and peplums, and large hats crowd the entrance of the store. Several children are in the crowd.
