This photo of Frances B. Clapp was taken on June 30, 1903, the year she graduated with a bachelor's degree in music from Pacific University. She later received a Ph.D in music from Pacific in 1935. Clapp went to Japan and taught at the Doshisha Women's University. She also conducted missionary work while there. The Japanese government honored Clapp with the Fifth Order of Sacred Treasure.

Harmon Chapman was the son of Pacific University music professor Frank Thomas Chapman. Frank Chapman taught at Pacific from 1903 to 1917. His wife, Pauline (Miller) Chapman, also taught music at Pacific from 1903 to 1913.

Daisy Abernathy, presumably a student at the Tualatin Academy before Pacific University was established, on December 27, 1905. Abernathy married Olympic sprinter Archie Hahn who coached at Pacific in 1907. Archie Hahn also coached at Princeton University and for 22 years, starting in 1929, at University of Virginia.
