This photograph was donated to the museum by Verne McKinney, a local businessman whose family had lived in the area since at least the early 1900s.

Note the woman in the lower middle of the image with the striped skirt, and another woman in the lower left of the image with ruffles on her top and fitted short sleeves. The women's hats are mostly straw boater styles, though some wear dark hats with flowers and others small bonnets. Men wear suit jackets and hats. Oregon Electric Railway expanded its service into Hillsboro and Forest Grove, making the area's interurban railways one of the earliest and largest in the nation.
