Title

Pacific University Trustees 1886 meeting minutes on land donated to the Indian School
-
Description
-
Minutes taken at a meeting of the Pacific University Board of Trustees on June 1, 1886. This meeting took place after the Forest Grove Indian Training School, to which Pacific had donated land, had relocated to Salem. The trustees approved a resolution which formally rescinded the donation of land, on the grounds that the gift had been 'conditioned on the continuance of said Indian Industrial School at this place,' and that Pacific would therefore keep the land and its buildings unless the school returned to Forest Grove.
