Description: A statement by U.S. Congressman Les AuCoin regarding the debate on covert aid to Nicaragua, given on April 23, 1985. In his statement, Congressman AuCoin expressed his concerns with the covert aid given to the Nicaraguan Contras during the Nicaraguan Revolution. He advocated for putting a stop to the financial support in order "to end the current stalemate and pursue other policies that have a realistic chance of insuring our interests.
