Description

A letter to a congressional colleague from U.S. Congressman Les AuCoin regarding the Housing and Development Act of 1980, H.R. 7262, and a proposed amendment. In his letter, Congressman AuCoin expressed opposition to the proposed amendment which aimed to get rid of a provision of the 1979 Housing Act, which he stated would "once again allow developers of government subsidized housing to engage in a massive ripoff of taxpayer dollars." The letter is also signed by Congressman Thomas L. Ashley and Congressman Stan Lundine. AuCoin served in the Oregon House of Representatives (1971-1975) and in the United States House of Representatives from Oregon's 1st District (1975-1993).
