Description: Testimony of U.S. Congressman Les AuCoin before the Subcommittee on Consumer Affairs of the House Banking, Finance and Urban Affairs Committee on September 8, 1978. In his speech, Congressman AuCoin argued that the Truth in Lending Act had too strict of requirements for agricultural loans, and should thus be exempt. He pointed out that such exemptions should not be granted to agricultural lenders. AuCoin served in the Oregon House of Representatives (1971-1975) and in the United States House of Representatives from Oregon's 1st District (1975-1993).
